London woman, Texas man sentenced for distributing meth
A London woman and a Texas man were sentenced Thursday to a combined 168 months in prison yesterday for a conspiracy to distribute more than 30 pounds of methamphetamine in Eastern Kentucky in less than a year’s time.
Teresa Donnell, 22, of London, was sentenced to 46 months. Her boyfriend, Ruben Lopez, 35, of El Paso, Texas, was sentenced to 122 months.
Both were officially sentenced for one count of conspiracy to distribute 500 or more grams of a methamphetamine between March of 2007 and January of 2008.
According to court documents, Lopez supplied co-defendant Darrel Ray Burns with pounds of methamphetamine on several occasions, which Burns distributed to different people in Eastern Kentucky.
Another co-defendant, Michelle Yocum, helped Donnell arranged the meetings and deliveries of the methamphetamine to Burns.
Earlier this year, Yocum and Burns received prison sentences of 131 months and 132 months, respectively, for their roles in the conspiracy.
Donnell and Lopez will have to serve 85 percent of their prison sentence before being released.
The investigation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the United States was represented by Assistant United States Attorney Greg Ousley.
