An accused rapist was picked up by Knox County police late Tuesday just in time for him to attend his status hearing in Laurel County Circuit Court Monday.
Tim Wayne Baker, 41, of Woodbine, is accused of raping a girl under the age of 12 in October 2000. He has also been indicted with first-degree sodomy and incest, incidents with the same girl in January 1998.
Baker is considered a persistent felony offender. He was convicted of second-degree assault in 1998 in Whitley County.
Baker was indicted for the crimes in August, but remained at large until Tuesday.
He is being lodged in the Knox County Detention Center on a $100,000 cash bond.
