LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —

Make double duty of your organization or business Christmas float this year.

The second annual nighttime Christmas Parade in East Bernstadt will be held on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 6 p.m. and will give businesses and organizations another opportunity to display their creative floats and/or groups.

Bands, churches, fire trucks, child care, school groups, and any other organization is encouraged to participate in this year’s parade.

“The East Bernstadt Christmas Parade has always been held on Saturday, but last year we changed it to a nighttime parade, and it went very well,” said Shawn McFarland. “We want to encourage anyone and any business or organization to participate this year again.”

McFarland said several local fire trucks from different departments across the county participated last year.

“One fire truck from Bush (Fire Department) was covered in lights and it really shone out during the nighttime parade,” he said. “Businesses and organizations who enter floats in the Christmas on Main parade (Dec. 6) can have another chance to use their floats at the East Bernstadt parade, which is the next night.”

Anyone interested in participating in the East Bernstadt Christmas parade is urged to submit their intent by Nov. 30 for planning purposes. Those wishing to be in the parade should contact McFarland at 606 260-3371, Tracy McFarland at 606 260-1192 or by e-mail at tlfowler34@yahoo.com.
