Police seek armed robbers

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Friday morning got off to an early and disruptive beginning for a Laurel man, and today police are seeking the identities of two armed robbers.

It began around 5 a.m. on Powers Lane, 10 miles south of London, when a 43-year-old man was robbed by two white males who were armed with a gun and a knife.

The two men took an undisclosed amount of money from the victim’s wallet after they forced entry into the man’s residence. After the robbery, the two men fled on foot, but the victim chased them toward American Greeting Card Road before losing sight of them.

Laurel County Sheriff’s officials are now seeking information on the identity of the two men, who were wearing a blue hoodie and a dark colored hoodie, respectively.

Anyone with information on the suspects or this crime is urged to contact the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office at (606) 864-6600 or Laurel Dispatch at (606) 878-7000. Callers may remain anonymous and all information received will be kept confidential.

The investigation into the armed robbery is being continued by Detective Billy Madden and Deputy Shane Rice.
