Car hits pontoon boat

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — A boat and a car were damaged after a collision on Wednesday morning.

The crash happened on Ky. 192, five miles west of London just before 10 a.m.

The driver of the car, 39-year-old Benjamin S. Meade of Old Whitley Road in Lily, reportedly ran off the roadway and struck the pontoon boat that was parked in a yard. When Laurel County Sheriff’s Deputy Tyler Morris arrived at the scene, he discovered Meade was driving on a DUI-suspended license.

Meade was arrested and lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
