E.B. man dies from crash injuries

A man injured in a two-vehicle accident last week has died from those injuries.

James Fields, 78, of East Bernstadt, died Wednesday at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.

Fields and his wife, Gennavea, were traveling north on U.S. 25 in Pittsburg Jan. 27 when their vehicle collided with a truck pulling out from a business parking lot. James Fields was taken to Saint Joseph-London and later transferred to Lexington.

Gennavea Fields was flown from the accident scene to UK Medical Center, where she remains in serious condition, according to public relations department for the hospital.

At the time of the accident, the couple were believed to be heading home after purchasing flowers for their daughter’s funeral, which was Jan. 28.

Funeral arrangements are pending at House-Rawlings Funeral Home.
