LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Three candidates out of 17 applications for the position of East Bernstadt Independent School’s superintendent have been chosen by a screening committee.

The names were revealed at the November board meeting: Jim Meding, who is the current principal and assistant superintendent; Vicki Jones, who is principal of Cold Hill Elementary; and Walter T. Hulett, who is superintendent of the Knox County schools and a former Laurel County superintendent.

The three educators will be interviewed by the screening committee on November 28.
