Two men accused of killing and dumping Devin Overbey’s body, then trying to burn his truck, were scheduled for a jury trial in April.
During a hearing Friday, Laurel Circuit Judge John Knox Mills scheduled a final pretrial hearing for Dwayne Keith Riley and Jason Dewayne Frazier on March 26, with a jury trial scheduled for April 13.
According to police reports, Devin Overbey was at Terry Riley’s birthday party Sept. 13, 2008, when he allegedly became involved in a fight with Dwayne Riley and Frazier. Overbey was struck in the head and the three men allegedly loaded his body into Overbey’s truck and dumped him on Happy Hollow Road. The three men are accused of taking Overbey’s truck to Rockcastle County and trying to burn it.
A Laurel County jury found Terry Riley not guilty of Overbey’s murder but guilty of tampering with evidence in a one-day trial earlier this month.
