LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — North Laurel continued to roll through the winner’s bracket with a 24-0 rout of Leslie County on Tuesday. North Laurel scored 11 runs in the first inning with 14 batters going to the plate. The 11 runs came on just six hits with walks and errors accounting for the other runners.

Becca Riley had a pair of hits in the first inning and drove in five runs, including two on a home run.

It didn’t get much better for Leslie County from there. North Laurel scored six more runs in the second inning, highlighted by a two-out, two-run single by Jazz Jervis. Leslie County continued to hurt themselves with two errors, three walks, and a hit batter in the second inning. Riley recorded her third hit of the game in the second inning.

Courtney Foley’s double opened the third inning. Brianna Houston also doubled and Jervis tripled as the lead stretched to 24-0.

The win puts North Laurel in the finals of the winner’s bracket, where it was scheduled to face Corbin Thursday. Corbin advanced to the finals with a controversial 2-1 win over Clay County. Clay County protested the game because Corbin did not play all of their players as required by Little League rules. The ruling from Little League headquarters in Williamsport, PA was to let the game stand, but suspend the Corbin manager for two games.
