LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
SOMERSET—Amber Hyde homered twice and drove in five runs as the South Laurel Lady Cardinals rolled over host Pulaski County Monday night, 12-1.
The Lady Cards scored two in the first, four in the second, then six in the six to take the win.
Hagan Burns picked up the win for South, throwing three innings of one-hit softball. She walked one and struck out two. Megan Smith pitched the final three innings, allowing one run on no hits. She walked one and struck out four.
Pulaski County’s lone run came in the fourth inning.
Cassandra Johnson was 3-for-4 with three doubles and three RBIs. Nell Murray drove in two runs with two doubles. Brittany Vandeventer also smacked two doubles and drove in a run.
The Lady Cards were scheduled to host North Laurel last night, then host Madison Central on Thursday.
