LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.—After blanking Bellbrook, Ohio 9-0 on Wednesday, the South Laurel Lady Cards wrapped up their stay in South Carolina falling to Liverpool, N.Y., 5-0, to finish the trip 1-3.
The game against Liverpool was played in less than favorable conditions, as a cold rain fell.
“We just didn’t play well,” South Laurel coach James Burns said.
Prior to their trip to South Carolina, the Lady Cards had scored 50 runs in five games while allowing only seven. In its four games in South Carolina, South Laurel scored just nine runs (seven of those in one game) while giving up 26.
“We had been hitting so well and down here, we just haven’t been hitting, except for Madyson Morris and Brittany Vandeventer,” Burns said.
