Madison Central hands South Laurel third straight loss

Cards fall to Indians in boys' soccer action

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — RICHMOND—Austin McAlister scored three goals in the first half as the host Madison Central Indians blanked visiting South Laurel, 6-0, Tuesday in Richmond.

For Madison Central (5-4) it was the Indians third straight win. South Laurel (4-5) have lost three straight and five of its last six games.

In the 14th minute, Daniel Parke played give-and-go with Addison McCoy, with McCoy finishing off the play to make it 1-0. Ninety seconds later, McAlister scored his first goal on a header off a pass from Luke Hall.

McAlister’s second goal came with 12:28 to play, then his third with 7:44 left before the half for a 4-0 lead.

Central added two more goals in the second half from Parke and McAlister for the 6-0 final. The Cards were held to just one shot on goal.

South Laurel will travel to Southwestern tonight, then stay on the road next week with games at Oneida Baptist (Sept. 17) and North Laurel (Sept. 18).
