LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — MANCHESTER—A day after South Laurel beat Clay County in three sets, the Lady Card received another bit of good news: Kristen Rickett, who had been injured, has been cleared to return to action.

“Hopefully this weekend as we play in the Rockcastle Invitational we can pick up where we left off before she was injured,” coach Mitzi Jones said. “I have a good feeling about these girls; they have a lot of knowledge of the game and a lot of talent. We just need to put it all together at one time.”

They did just that against Clay County, winning 25-18, 25-22, 25-20.

“It was a very needed win,” Jones said. “But we had too many errors. Our passing was better than it has been, but our serves, sets and hits were off. If we could ever put it all together, you would see a different team on the floor.”

South Laurel will host Corbin Tuesday night looking for revenge for an earlier season loss.
