LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
BEREA—Four different South Laurel Cardinals found the back of the next Thursday in a 4-1 win over Berea in boys’ soccer.
“I was very proud of our team tonight,” coach Amber Hensley said. “We possessed very well tonight.”
The Cards were without the services of Tanner Chaney, who is out for the season after suffering a torn ACL in the opening game of the season.
The Cardinals led at the half 2-0 with goals by Jacob Hubbuch and Noah Bronnert. In the second half, Rivers Adkins and Austin Rader scored.
“We did a much better job with our shooting and every goal was scored into the corners,” Hensley said. “ We have been working on finishing since the game against Middlesboro. I’m very proud of the guys. Jesse Thomas played in the goal for us for the first time since being released by his doctor. Jesse is so aggressive. Austin Baker started the game in the goal and did very well.”
The Cardinals will be at Model Tuesday and Whitley County on Thursday.
