LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — MT. VERNON—After dropping its opening match to Somerset, the North Laurel Lady Jaguars rebounded with a hard fought, come from behind win over Rockcastle County, 14-25, 22-25, 25-21, 25-23, 15-12.

The Lady Jaguars (1-1) dropped the first two sets, but roared back to win the next three and take the match. Coach Haley Ratliff was pleased with the way her team responded after going down two sets.

“It was a great game,” Ratliff said. “We started off rocky. I’ve got to find a way to get the girls going early. After losing the first two sets we bounced back and won the next three.”

Ratliff said they tried a different rotation and it seemed to progress as each set went on.

“The only way we are going to get better at doing something different is practicing it against teams in the season,” Ratliff said. “So I was very pleased with the way the girls have bought in to their new rotation.”

The Lady Jaguars will host Garrard County Tuesday.
