North Laurel state champs

All-Stars win Senior League title

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — BUCKNER—In a thrilling battle between two exceptional teams, the North Laurel Senior All-Stars captured the state title with a 1-0 win over Richmond Wednesday night at Oldham County High School.

The lone run came in the first inning as Austin Rudder lead off the game by getting hit by a pitch and scored the on a Ray Hays base hit. Dylan Messer had a double and single. 

Hays not only drove in the winning run, he also threw a complete game for the shutout, allowing five hits and struck out five. 

For Richmond, Easten Shouse had two hits.  Zachary McPeek had a double.  Ashton Scott allow just three hits and getting three strikeouts in taking the loss.

Members of the North Laurel All-Stars are: Austin Rudder, Trey Feltner, Dylan Messer, Ray Hays,Jake McWhorter, Braxston Hicks, Braden Houston, Drew Allen, Tori Bowling, Ryan Abner and Steven Nelson, Manager Bill Abner and  Coach Kevin Houston.
