Two men charged with kidnapping a woman and forcing her to cash a $2,000 check at a local bank were indicted by a Laurel County Grand Jury.

Jason Brewer, 26, and Danny Hibbitts Jr., 26, were each indicted on charges of kidnapping, first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary and theft by unlawful taking over $300. As well, Brewer was indicted on a charge of second-degree persistent felony offender, while Hibbitts was indicted on an additional charge of first-degree persistent felony offender.

The two men were arrested in March by London Police officers.

London Police Detective-Sergeant Blaine Inman said the two men went to the victim’s residence on Mill Street and forced her to write a check for $2,000. When the bank refused to cash the check for Hibbitts, the two men met at Levi Lanes on U.S. 25 where Brewer, who had brought the victim with him, forced her at gunpoint to drive to the bank and cash the check. The two men met up again in the Sav-a-Lot parking lot on U.S. 25 and fled the scene.

About 4 a.m. the following day, Inman said police received an annonymous tip about Brewer’s whereabouts and took him into custody.

Hibbitts’ girlfriend re-portedly contacted Inman and arranged for him to speak with Hibbitts. Through the course of the conversation, Inman said he was able to convince Hibbitts to surrender to police, and he was taken into custody at the London Police Department.
