Joseph Edward Chadwell

Owner of Chadwell Body Shop

Joseph Edward Chadwell, 80, passed away on Friday, May 2, 2008, at his home.

He was born on Feb. 27, 1928 to the union of Ed and Ruby Barton Chadwell.

He was the owner and operator of Chadwell Body Shop for more than 35 years and a veteran of the United States Air Force.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Johnnie Hubbs Chadwell and the following children, Beverly Jasper and husband Danny, of Louisville, Ky., Ricky Chadwell and wife Beverly, of Manchester, and JoAnn Couch and husband Bill, also of Manchester.

He is also survived by two sisters, Mildred Craig and Martha Craig, both of Corbin, Ky., and the following grandchildren, Shelly Anderson and Merv Grigsby, both of Corbin, Ky., Jason Chadwell, of Manchester, Jessica Turner and husband Hagen, of Nicholasville, Ky., Matthew Wolfe, of Manchester, and Joseph Tyler Wolfe, of Lexington, Ky.

He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Ed and Ruby Barton Chadwell, his brother A.O. Chadwell and his sister Mae Tye.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 4, at Britton Funeral Home. Burial followed at Manchester Memorial Gardens.
