Maxine Hammons

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Maxine Hammons, 72, of London, Ky., passed away Monday, Dec. 16, 2013, at Baptist Health Corbin.

Born Sept. 14, 1941, she was the daughter of the late John Bradley Hubbard and Ella Smith Hubbard.

She was a store manager for the Department of State Parks and a member of Merrimac Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Rufus Hammons of London; her daughter, Vickie Potter and husband Rick of London; and sister, Vesta Meeler of London.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013 in the London Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Danny Smith officiated.

Burial followed in the Merrimac Cemetery, London.

Visitation was also held Thursday at noon at the funeral home.

Pallbearers were her nephews.
