Merrell Shepherd, 65, Rooks Road, London, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2009, at his residence.
Born Oct. 1, 1943 in Perry County, he was the son of Monroe Shepherd and Allie Jones Shepherd.
He was a coal miner.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Joseph Monroe Shepherd.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Combs Shepherd, of London; children, Mark Anthony Merrell Shepherd, of London, Michael Anthony Shepherd, of Shepardsville, Ky., and Timothy Buddy Shepherd, of Flint, Ky.; and a brother Felix Shepherd, of Happy, Ky.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at the Maggards Funeral Home in Hazard. Burial followed in Happy Community Cemetery in Hazard.
House-Rawlings Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
