Bobby Ray Payne

Former Ky. American Water Company employee

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Bobby Ray Payne, 73, London, Ky., passed away Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012, at Saint Joseph London.

Born Aug. 4, 1939 in Laurel County, Ky., he was the son of the late  Newton Cox and Eliza Payne. He was a retiree of the Kentucky American Water Company, a member of the Meadowthorp Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Navy.

Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Melissa Evelyn Payne and Vicky Sue Payne; and two brothers, Eddie Payne and Billy Payne.

He is survived by his wife Brenda Turner Payne, Nicholasville, Ky.; a daughter, Angel Dawn Payne, Nicholasville; two sons, Bobby Ray Payne  Jr., Nicholasville, and Perry John Payne, Lexington, Ky.; a brother, Fred Joe Payne, Ohio; four sisters, Mary Smith, Ohio, Judy Payne, Corbin, Lois Lewis, London and Donna Woods, East Bernstadt; several grandchildren; and other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5  until the 3 p.m. funeral service in the chapel of Bowling Funeral Home with Eugene Gentry officiating.

Burial will follow in Murray Cemetery, East Bernstadt with military honors by the local DAV.
