John M. Adams

Retired truck driver

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — John M. Adams, 77, London, Ky., passed away Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012.

A native of Laurel County, he was born Jan. 27, 1935, the son of the late George Dewey Adams and Lizzie Bell Cupp Thomas. He was a retired truck driver and life long member of East Pittsburg Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Emmett Adams and Jessie Adams; and a sister, Louise Boggs.

Survivors include his wife, Helen George Adams, Laurel County; a daughter, Glenda Kay (Ron) Hatfield, London; brothers, Bill (Norma) Adams, Franklin, Ind., and Sam (Lois Marie) Thomas, London; sisters, Wanda (Johnnie Lee) Bruner, London, and Mary Rose (Shelby) Pennington, Texas.

Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18 in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Denny McCowan officiating.

Burial followed in Ralph P. George Cemetery, Laurel County.

Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17 at the funeral home.
