Edward Belcher

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Edward Belcher, 87, Yorkshire Estates, London, Ky., passed away Thursday, May 30, 2013, at his residence.

Born May 30, 1926 in Dorton, Ky., he was the son of Jasper and Anna Belle Bentley Belcher. He was a retired United Auto Workers — Fisher Body employee, and a member of the Church of God in Jesus Name.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Arland (Bertha) Belcher and Roy (Gertrude) Belcher; and two sisters, Lizzie (Hassell) Mullins and Maggie (Smith) Bengley.

Survivors include his wife, Lorene Ratliff Belcher of Yorkshire Estates, London; a son, Glen Edward Belcher and wife,  Shirley of Bloomingdale, Ill.; three brothers, Jonah Belcher of Paintsville, Ky., Homer Belcher and wife, Nora, and Russell Belcher and wife, Loraine, all of Dorton, Ky.; a sister Frankie Lowe and husband, William of Dorton, Ky.; a grandson, Greg (Tamara) Belcher, Illinois; and two great-grandsons, Devon Edward Belcher and Bryce Julian Belcher, both of Illinois.

The family received friends at London Funeral Home after 6 p.m. on Friday, May 31 followed by the funeral service at 7 p.m. with Brother Larry Paul Roark officiating.

Additional visitation and funeral service was held at Hall & Jones Funeral Home in Virgie, Ky.

The family received friends at the funeral home in Virgie after 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 1.

An additional funeral service were conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 2 at Hall & Jones Funeral Home in Virgie, Ky.

Burial followed at Ratliff cemetery.
