Donald Johnson

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Donald Johnson, 79, of London, Ky., passed away Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013, at his residence.

He was born on Oct. 3, 1934, in Laurel County, Ky., the son of the late Russell and Fannie Allen Johnson. 

He was united in marriage to Donnis Howard Johnson, who survives of London. 

He is also survived by four children,  Tim Johnson, Tom Johnson and wife, Tina, and Paul Johnson, all of London, and Regina Coffey and husband, Greg, of Corbin; one brother,  Oscar Daniel Johnson of London; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, plus a host of other friends and relatives to mourn his passing.

He was a mechanic, a veteran of the United States Army and a member of West Chester Baptist Church in West Chester, Ohio.

Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday in the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with Jim Cloud and Jim Caudill officiating. 

Burial followed in the Johnson Cemetery at London.

Visitation was held at Bowling Funeral Home 6 p.m. Saturday.

Military honors were conducted by the local DAV.

Pallbearers were Tyler and Adam Johnson, John Davidson, Richard Hyde, Reuben Goforth and Paul Cline. 

Honorary Pallbearers were Chase Coffey and Luke Johnson.
