Farris Gene Patton

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Farris Gene Patton, 75, Laurel County, Ky., passed away Monday, Jan. 6, 2014.

A Laurel County native, he was born Dec. 24, 1938, the son of the late William Ernest and Bertie Garland Patton.

He was a retired employee of Laurel Grocery Company, a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the Colony Holiness Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Faye Sizemore and Grace Bowling.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Bruner Patton; a daughter, Kendra Patton, London; a son, Lonnie Patton and wife, Karen, Corbin; a brother, Michael Dean Patton and wife, Joyce, London; and a grandchild, Joshua Aaron Patton, plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing,

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. today, Jan. 8 until the 2 p.m. funeral hour in the chapel of Bowling Funeral Home with George Poynter and Mark Poynter officiating.

Burial will follow in the Liberty Cemetery, Laurel County.

Pallbearers will be Roy Murray Jr., David Bruner, Steven Morris, Michael Patton, Nathan Patton and Edwin Sizemore.
