Rachel Johnson

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Rachel Johnson, 88, London, Ky., passed away Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, at Laurel Heights Home For The Elderly.

She was born June 13, 1925 in Perry County, Ky., the daughter of the late Hiram and Regina Begley Howard.

She was united in marriage to William “Boots” Johnson who preceded her in death.

She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Bales and husband, Harold, London; three sons, James Johnson and wife, Rhonda, Bobby Johnson and wife, Sheila, and Harold Lee Johnson and wife, Belinda, all of London; four sisters, Mildred Hale, Donis Johnson, Lillie Belle Harville and Louise Binder, all of London; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren; plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

Besides her parents and husband she was also preceded in death by a sister, Dica Swango; and three brothers, Lee, Elbert and Estil Howard.

Visitation will be after 6 p.m. today, Jan. 8 at Bowling Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9 in the chapel of Bowling Funeral Home with  Rob Hale and Roy Hamlin officiating.

Burial will follow in Johnson Cemetery, Laurel County.
