LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
Daisy Smith, 94, of London, Ky., passed away at Saint Joseph London, Tuesday, March 12, 2013.
She was born on February 15, 1919, in Clay County, Ky., the daughter of the late Huey and Martha Bruner Hammons.
She was united in marriage to Robert Smith, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by nine children, Verlois Bowling, Lawrence Smith, Willa Dean Sizemore, Estill Smith and wife, Phyllis, Dewey Smith and wife, Brenda, Pearl Richardson, Leroy Smith and wife, Glynna, and Gary Wayne Smith and wife, Irene, all of London, and Carolyn Sue Caldwell and husband, Thaddeus, of Bledsoe, Ky.
She was also survived by one sister, Phoebe Allen, of Indianapolis, Ind.; one brother, Joe Hampton, of Bay City, Mich.; 48 grandchildren, 92 great-grandchildren; and 27 great-great-grandchildren; plus a host of other friends and relatives to mourn her passing.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by five children, Verlie Burnett, Ray, Sherman, Charles and Glenn Smith.
She was a homemaker and member of Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. today, Friday, March 15 in the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with Cecil Benge and David Smith officiating.
Burial will follow in the Smith Family Cemetery, Laurel County.
The family received friends at Bowling Funeral Home after 6 p.m. Thursday.
