Samuel J. Creech

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Samuel J. Creech, 73, departed this life on Thursday, April 3.

He was born on March 15, 1941 in Laurel County, Ky., the son of the late Bill Creech and Bertha Maggard Creech.

He was united in marriage to Juanita Hubbard, who also preceded him in death.

He is survived by one son, Harold Lee Creech and wife Pam of Norwood, Ohio; three daughters, Mary Sue Stacy, Anna Marie Moore and husband Roy and Debra Kay Moore and husband Ray, all of London; two sisters, Bessie Harris of Hamilton, Ohio, and Lois Cornett of Connersville, Ind.; 10 grandchildren, Roger, Jason, Christina and Jeremiah Moore, Kateena Shell, Shawn and Ashley Creech, Taylor Pratt, Eric and Kayana Allen; 11 great-grandchildren, Michael and Kimberly Moore, Daniel Lawson, Madison Deaton, Kaylee Jackson, Kylie and Mason Creech, Blake Shell, Trenton and Taytumn Allen and Elizabeth Pratt; plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Besides his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by one sister, Rose Combs; and two brothers, Phillip and Robert Creech.

He was a retired truck driver, a veteran of the United States Army and was affiliated with the Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, April 6 at 2 p.m. at Bowling Funeral Home with Cecil Benge and Paul Cooper officiating.

Burial followed in McKnight Cemetery.

Visitation was Saturday, April 5 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers were Roger, Michael, Jeremiah and Jason Moore, Daniel Lawson, Harold and Shawn Creech and Nathan Pratt.
