Walter E. Boggs

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Walter E. Boggs, 90, Southland Drive East, London, Ky., passed away Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at his residence.

Born Nov. 20, 1922 in Hamilton, Ohio, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Mary Messer Boggs.

He was retired from General Motors, a U.S. Army Air Core veteran and a member of the Old Union Holiness Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Irene Zbacnik and Florence Rudder; and two brothers, Ralph Boggs and David Boggs.

Survivors include his wife, Rosie L. Boggs, London; three daughters, Marjorie Ruth Smith of Greenville, S.C., Dinah Sue Berry of Winterpark, Fla., and Cheryl Ann Galbreath of Hamilton, Ohio; two sons,  Gary E. Boggs of Hamilton, Ohio, and Walter Brian Boggs of London; three sisters, Cora Mae Grooms of New Jersey, Nancy Baldwin of London and Ann Adams, Kettering, Ohio;  two brothers, L.H. Boggs of Eaton, Ohio, and Paul Boggs of London; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Walter E. Boggs were conducted at 12 noon Tuesday, Aug. 20 at Old Union Holiness Church with Pastor Bobby Helton, Pastor Troy Boggs, and Pastor Ronnie Ball officiating.

Burial followed at Old Union Cemetery with the local DAV in charge of military honors.

Pallbearers were Joseph Boggs, Joshua Boggs, William Berry, Jeff Boggs, Jason Galbreath and Jim Galbreath.

The family received friends at London Funeral Home from 6 until 9 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19 and from 10 a.m. until service time on Tuesday at Old Union Holiness Church.

London Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
