Albert Jennings ‘A.J.’ Blunschi

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Albert Jennings “A.J.” Blunschi, 78, of East Bernstadt, died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at his residence.  

Born December 12, 1933, in Laurel County, Ky., he was the son of the late Fred Julius and Myrtle Williams Blunschi.

He was a self-employed farmer and a member of the St. Sylvester Catholic Church of East Bernstadt.  He served in the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Curt, Casper, Joseph Kenneth, and Billy Blunschi and an infant brother.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Blunschi of East Bernstadt; daughters, Jennifer Hodge, and Kelly Hixon, both of East Bernstadt, and Tracy House of London; a brother, Rex Blunschi of East Bernstadt; grandchildren, Lane Wesley Meek, Elizabeth Ann Warren, Whitley Sayre Michel, Suzan Jo Hixon, Stacy Ann Durham, Joshua Jennings House, Jaimee Suzanne Parman, and Mariah McCarty House; and six great-grandchildren.

A private funeral mass for the family was held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24 at St. Sylvester Catholic Church with Father Patrick Stewart officiating.

Buried followed in St. Slyvester Cemetery.

Visitation was held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at London Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were J.C. Blunschi, Jeff Blunschi, Tommy Blunschi, Jimmy Durham, Eddie Parman, P.J. Warren, Dustin Meek, and Matthew Michel.
