LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
Robert H. Woody was born on Aug. 5, 1924 and passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2012.
At the time of his death he was a resident at the Golden Living Center in Frankfort, Ky. He had previously resided in the Laurel Heights Home for the Elderly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William E. Woody and Myrtle Miller Woody; sisters, Eunice Pearl Woody, Ruby Woody Edwards and Geraldine Woody Herron; brothers, William “Wid” Woody and James E. Woody.
Survivors include his two nieces and four nephews.
He was a longtime resident of Laurel County. After graduating from London High School, he enlisted in 1943 in the U.S. Coast Guard serving in World War II as an apprentice seaman. He was honorably discharged in April of 1946 and subsequently attended Sue Bennett College.
Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. today, Friday, April 27 at the Pittsburg Cemetery with Pastor Bobby Helton officiating.
