William Roy Jones

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — William Roy Jones, 79, Dollie Miller Road, East Bernstadt, Ky., passed away Friday, Oct. 12, 2012 , at his residence.

Born Aug. 19, 1933 in Victory, Ky., he was the son of the late Oliver and Ruby Thomas Jones. He was a purchasing agent for RCA/GE, and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Survivors include his wife,  Thelma (Browning) Jones of Dollie Miller Road, East Bernstadt; two children,  Corlis Jones Van Lienden of Purcellville, Va., and Christopher William Jones of East Bernstadt; a grandson, Rhys Raymond VanLienden of Richmond, Va.; a sister,  Margaret “Peggy” Curry, East Bernstadt; and two brothers, Thomas O. Jones of East Bernstadt, and Robert D. Jones of London.

Funeral services for William Roy Jones were conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, in the London Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry Paul Roark and Alan Browning officiating.

Burial followed at Rice Family Cemetery in East Bernstadt, with the local DAV in charge of military honors.

Pallbearers were Terry Browning, Jason Browning, Delane Browning, Howard Pace, Jerry Jones, Leroy Mills, Andrew Roark and John Jones.

The family received friends at London Funeral Home after 6  p.m. on Monday.
