Riley Thompson Lipps

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Riley Thompson Lipps, 87, London, Ky., passed away Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014.

He was born June 4, 1926 in Clay County, Ky., the son of the late William and Minnie Thompson Lipps.

He was a retired foreman with a sign making company in Cincinnati, Ohio, a member of the Swiss Colony Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Martin.

He was united in marriage to Delie Sizemore Lipps who survives. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Brandon and Brett Martin; and three great- grandchildren, plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26 in the chapel of Bowling Funeral Home with Greg Deaton and Johnny Jervis officiating.

Burial followed in Swiss Colony Cemetery.

Military honors were provided by the local DAV.

Visitation was held at 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25 at the funeral home.
