LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
Alene Root, 77, Days Road, London, Ky., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012, at Laurel Heights Home for the Elderly.
A native of Laurel County, she was born March 10, 1934, the daughter of the late Christopher and Vennie Hurst Brown. She was a homemaker and affiliated with the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Huston Root; and two children, Joyce Sams and Hobert Root.
Survivors include a son, Chris Root, and two daughters, Wanda Likins and Brenda Root, all of London; and three grandchildren.
Visitation was from noon until the 2 p.m. funeral hour Saturday, Jan. 28 at London Funeral Home Chapel with Jack Durham officiating.
Burial followed in Floyd Cemetery, Laurel County.
