Garnett Gentry

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Garnett Gentry, 86, died March 17, 2013 at Cambridge Place in Lexington, Ky.

She was born September 10, 1926 in London, Ky., to the late James C. and Sarah Slusher Reid. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in London.

She is survived by her daughter, Dianna S. Gentry of Lexington, Ky.; her two sons, Paul H. (Loretta) Gentry of London, and Mark C. Gentry of Hollidaysburg, Pa.; six sisters, Louise (Kenneth) Parsons of Fairfield, Ohio, Ruby Gessendorf of Hamilton, Ohio, Sylvia Blue of London, Goldie Bales of Lake Wales, Fla., Carol (William) Frazier of Hamilton, Ohio, and Judy (Charlie) Smith of London; two brothers,  Kenneth Reid and Jimmy (Barbara) Reid, both of London; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Garnett was preceded in death by her brother, Pearl Reid; sisters, Opal Goode and Jewel Keithley.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Friday, March 22, at Clark Legacy Center in Nicholasville, with a Time of Sharing at 7:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Alzheimer’s Association Greater Kentucky and South Indiana Chapter, Kaden Tower, 6100 Dutchmans Lane Suite 401, Louisville, Ky., 40204 and/or the Arthritis Foundation, 1330 West Peachtree Suite 100, Atlanta, Ga., 30309.
