Juanita Rudder Rush

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Juanita Rudder Rush, 92, of East Laurel Road, London, Ky., passed away Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012 at Saint Joseph London.

She was born April 10, 1920 in Portland, Ore., the daughter of the late Sam and Alta Grant Rudder.

She was a retired school teacher for the Laurel County Board of Education at Bush Elementary, and was a member of Providence Baptist Church.

Mrs. Rush was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Denvis Rush; her twin brother, Harold Rudder, two other brothers, Raymond Rudder and Edward Rudder; two sisters, Elaine Whitaker and Mildred Rudder; and her son-in-law, Jack Woods.

She is survived by a daughter, Joyce Woods of Manchester, Ky.; a brother, Billy Rudder and wife, Betty of McKee, Ky.; four grandchildren, Teddy Woods and wife, Marsha, and Lisa Thompson and husband, Freddy, all of Manchester, Ky., Pat Henderson and husband, Jeff of McKee, Ky., and Jacquelyn Detherage and Patrick, of London; by the following great-grandchildren, Chad and Megan Thompson, Ryan Henderson, Whitney Tobias, Teddy and Sam Woods, and Payton and Mallory Detherage; by two great-great-grandchildren, Braiden Hooker and Holden Thompson; and by a very special caregiver, Linda Jarvis.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6 in the chapel of London Funeral Home with the Rev. David Thomas and Teddy Woods officiating.

Burial followed in Cumberland Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers were Samuel Woods, Teddy Glenn Woods, Teddy Woods, Ryan Henderson, Chad Thompson and Don Jarvis.

The family of Juanita Rudder Rush will receive friends at London Funeral Home from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour of 2  p.m. on Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to Gideon International.
