Laura Ruth (Cornetta) Marker

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —

 

Laura Ruth (Cornetta) Marker, 81, of Harrod Branch Road, London, Ky., passed away Monday, July 15, 2013, at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington, Ky.

Born in Richmond, Ind., on March 14, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Edna Helton Cornetta. She was a deli worker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert E. Marker; a sister, Daisy Ison; and a granddaughter, Clarissa Rader.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Rudolph Marker and wife, Anna and  Randy Eugene Marker and wife, Patty, both of London; three daughters, and Tonya Lorraine Rader and husband, Marvin, London, Lisa Sue Myers and husband, Mike of Liberty, Mo., and Jerri Ellen Thompson of Naples, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. 

The family received friends at London Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 17.

Funeral services for Laura Ruth (Cornetta) Marker were conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 18, in London Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Craig Morgan officiating. 

Burial followed at Old Salem Cemetery. 

Pallbearers were Willie Carter, Bob Rader, Mark Klemenz, Walter Marker, Michael Marker and Larry Hughes.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to, The American Diabetes Association.
