Marcus Woods

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Marcus Woods, 78, of Hemlock Lane, London, Ky., passed away Thursday, May 23, 2013, at Baptist Health Corbin.

Born Oct. 25, 1934 in Leslie County, Ky., he was the son of the late Felix and Dorothy Wooten Woods.

He was a truck driver for Eddie’s Auto Sales.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Woodrow Woods and Felix Woods Jr.

He was the father of six children Linda Brown and husband, Carl, Donna Nantz and husband, Charles, Bernice Crain, and Marcus Steven Woods and wife, Christy, all of London, Brenda Hackney and husband, Steve of Stilesville, Ind., and Barbara Grimes of Owenton, Ky.; the brother of Oma Woods of North Carolina, Joann Barnett and husband, Harold of Cincinnati, Ohio, Cora Marie Vaughn of London, and Martha Avis Basey and Don Woods and wife, Kathy, all of Indianapolis, Ind.; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral service for Marcus Woods was conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 26, in London Funeral Home Chapel with Paul Cooper officiating.

Burial followed in Owsley Cemetery.

Nephews served as pallbearers.

The family received friends at London Funeral Home after 6  p.m. on Saturday, May 25.
