Pearl Harrison Benge, 83, of Richmond, Ky., died Monday, July 16, 2007, at Reid Hospital, surrounded by her children.

Born July 2, 1924 in Laurel County, Ky., to Leigh and Fanny Million Jarvis, she had resided in Richmond since 1968. She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include her children, James Arthur “Shorty” Harrison and wife Loretta, of Centerville, Dale Charles “Trigger” Harrison, of Richmond, Margaret Gale Newberry and husband Jim, of Arizona, Wanda L. Schneider, of Cambridge City, William Boyd Harrison, of Kentucky, Dennis Ray Harrison, of Kentucky, Judy Kay Putala and husband Ken, of Missouri, Shirley Ann Goodson and David King, of Centerville, Fornie I. Benge and wife Sherri, of Richmond, and Deborah Kay Reed and husband John of Muncie, Ind.; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Arvil Jarvis and wife Jean, of Kentucky; one sister, Alice Evans, of Kentucky; nieces; nephews; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husbands James Harrison and Bradley Benge, her parents and seven brothers.

Funeral services are to be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, July 20, at Doan and Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond, with Rev. Lester Maples officiating. Burial is to follow in Earlham Cemetery.
