LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
Ailene Norris Onkst, 87, London, Ky., passed away Monday, April 30, 2012, at her residence.
Born Dec. 8, 1924 in Harlan County, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Ottis Norris and Stella Seals Norris. She was a factory worker, and member of Liberty Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill Onkst; a daughter, Coleen Cattlet; two sisters, Claudette Combs and Weta Vickers; and a brother, Paul Ledford.
Survivors include a daughter, Connie Geressa Onkst, London; two grandchildren, Mark Woods and wife, Shannon, and Jennifer Evans and husband, Shaw, all of London; five great-grandchildren, Allison, Josie and Shelby Woods; and Seth and Jakob Stephens; and two sisters, Kathleen Brantley, Greenville, Tenn., and Margaret Hahn, Knoxville, Tenn.
Funeral services were conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 3 in the chapel of Bowling Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry O’Bryan officiating.
Burial followed in Warrens Grove Cemetery, Laurel County.
Visitation was after 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
