Julia Mae Minton Hampton

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Julia Mae Minton Hampton, 89, of Hwy 687 Manchester, Ky., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at Saint Joseph London.

Born Oct. 31, 1923 in Clay County, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Marshall and Stella Martin Minton. She was a homemaker and member of Lebanon United Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 63 years, Jarvis Hampton; two sons, Gary Hampton and Mark Wayne Hampton; a sister, Sarah Philpot; six brothers, Elbert Minton, Houston Minton, Oscar Minton, Welzie Minton, Charlie Minton, and Marshall Minton Jr.; and a grandson, Jason David Hampton.

Survivors include two daughters, Brenda (Bob) Burchette, and Linda (Mike) Wagers, both of Manchester; three sons,  Homer Murral (Phyllis) Hampton, of Manchester, Jarvis Lymon (Yvonne) Hampton and David (Dianna) Hampton, both of London; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, Friday, in London Funeral Home Chapel with Wayne House and Jim Cloud officiating.

Burial will follow in Martin Cemetery in Manchester.

The family received friends at London Funeral Home after 6 p.m. on Thursday.
