Dennis Baker

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Dennis Baker, 80, of Indian Lakes Estate, Fla., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012,  at Winter Haven Nursing Home in Winter Haven, Fla.

He was born on Feb. 14, 1932 in Leslie County, Ky., the son of the late Wilson and May Boggs Baker.  He was a retired supervisor for A.K. Steel in Middletown, Ohio, and a member of the Frostproof Church of Christ. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps, was a Korean War veteran and a POW.  He enjoyed fishing, vegetable gardening and was an avid sports fan.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Faye W. Baker of Indian Lake, Fla., and 21 brothers and sisters.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Dec. 9 at 2 p.m. at London Funeral Home Chapel with Don Stidham officiating.

Burial followed at Wells Cemetery, Keavy, Ky., with the Keavy D.A.V. in charge of military honors.

Visitation was from 12 noon until the 2 p.m. funeral hour on Sunday.
