LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Charles Saylor, 75, of Laurel Lake Road North, London, Ky., passed away Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, at his residence.
Born May 11, 1938 in Bell County, Ky., he was the son of the late John and Mary Lee Spurlock Saylor.
He was a retired employee of Flowers Bakery and affiliated with the Pentecostal faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Myrtle L. Cornett Saylor; and three brothers, James Willard Saylor, Yuewel Saylor, and Carl Saylor.
Survivors include his children, Charles Saylor Jr. and wife Rachel, of Essie, Ky., Charlene Roehrich and husband Steve, of Corbin, Ky., James Saylor and wife Julie, of East Bernstadt, and Mark Edward Saylor of Keavy; two sisters, Frances Harrison and Lillie Vaughn, both of Harlan, Ky.; eight grandchildren, Steven, Melissa, Dustin, Josh, Anthony, Bridgett, Zachary, and Andrew; and six great-grandchildren, Megan, Austin, Isaacc, Steven, Jackson, and Kaidison.
Funeral services for Charles Saylor were conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19 in the chapel of London Funeral Home with Tony Couch and Gary Lady officiating.
Burial followed at Potter Cemetery, Laurel County.
Pallbearers were Stephen Roehrick, Dustin Dewayne Saylor, Andrew Saylor, Joshua Saylor, Zachary Saylor and Mark Anthony Saylor.
The family received friends after 5 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
