LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
Shirley Jean Hensley Reed, 70, East Laurel Road, London, Ky., passed away Friday, April 6, 2012, at the Markey Cancer Center in Lexington, Ky.
Born May 5, 1941 in Clay County, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Gordon Hensley and Dora Spurlock Hensley Sawyers.
She was a homemaker and member of Lick Fork Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Stanley Reed, London; two sons, Wayne (Angie) Reed, and Glenn Reed, both of London; two daughters, Karen (James) Philpot, London, and Debbie (Scott) Hacker, Manchester, Ky.; a sister, Barbara Hensley Williams, Richmond, Ky.; two brothers, Bobby Hensley, Nicholasville, Ky., and Larry Sawyers, London; six grandchildren, Matthew Philpot. Kara Ball, Ashton Hacker, Madison Reed, Cody Reed and Sydney Reed; and two great-grandchildren, Tate Philpot and Trace Philpot.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, April 9 in the chapel of London Funeral Home with Terry Reed, David Reed and Gary Kirby officiating.
Burial followed in Rough Creek Cemetery, Laurel County.
Pallbearers were Matt Philpot, Gordon Hensley, Larry Sawyers, Josh Sawyers, Wes Watkins, Jordan Ball, Junior Gabbard and Tony Watkins.
Visitation was after 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
