LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
Ethel (Cheek) Smallwood, 72, Albany, Ky., formerly of Laurel County, Ky., passed away Monday, June 17, 2013, at her residence.
A native of Laurel County, she was born April 15, 1941, the daughter of the late Willie W. and Edna Bernard Cheek.
She was a homemaker and member of Clear Fork Baptist Church, Albany, Ky.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jackson Paul Cheek; and two sisters, Ima Curry and Edith Proffitt.
Survivors include her husband, Ronald Smallwood, Albany, Ky.; two sons, Delbert Smallwood, Hobart, Ind., and Ronavan Smallwood, Albany, Ky.; three daughters, Rhonda Asher, Albany, Ky., Donna Sue Campbell, Wheeler, Ind., and Shonda Skelton, Westville, Ind.; three brothers, Kenneth Cheek, East Bernstadt, Ky., Troy Cheek, Wheeler, Ind., and Roscoe Cheek, Mountain Home, Ark.; three sisters, Susie Burns, Corbin, Ky., Sonia Lipps of Valparaiso, Ind., and Brenda Cheek, Greensburg, Ind.; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
The family of Ethel (Cheek) Smallwood will receive friends after 4 p.m. on Thursday, June 20 at London Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, June 21 in London Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Ronnie Cox and Brother Bob Sawyers officiating.
Burial will follow at Hoskins Cemetery, Laurel County.
Pallbearers will be Allen Smallwood, Rance Smallwood, Rodney Campbell, Ryan Smith, Ronnie Church, Donnie Church, and Jayson Gaulin.
