LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Betty Thomas, 80, Cadiz, Ky., passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at Signature Health Care in Clarksville, Tenn., following a long journey with Alzheimers.

She was born in Trigg County, Ky., on July 31, 1932 to the late Homer C. and Mamie Stallons Henderson.  

She retired after 30 years from the Trigg County Health Department; was a member of the Bethesda United Methodist Church, and a member of the Oak Grove Women’s Fellowship Sunday School Class.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward Thomas; a brother, Emmett Henderson; and a sister, Ruth Broadbent.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Emily Diane Thomas Chesnut and husband, David, Cadiz, Ky.; a sister, Marie P’Pool, Cadiz, Ky.; two grandchildren, Lucas Thomas and Ashley Chesnut, Cadiz, Ky., and Logan Charles and Kelly Chesnut, also of Cadiz, Ky.; and a great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Chesnut, Cadiz, Ky.

Funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. today, Friday, June 14 at King’s Funeral Home, Cadiz.

Burial will follow in the Starkie Thomas Cemetery.

Visitation was after 4 p.m. Thursday, June 13  at the funeral home. .
