Elsie Cornett Bowling

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Elsie Cornett Bowling, 80, of Meadowlane Road, London, Ky., passed away Friday evening, Aug. 9, 2013, at her residence.

Born May 28, 1933 in Jackson County, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Lee and Lula Shelton Cornett.

She was a retired licensed practical nurse with the Laurel County Health Department and was affiliated with the Church of Christ.

She is survived by three sons, Ronald Bowling and wife, Charlene of Georgetown, Ky., Gerald Bowling and wife, Sherry of Gibbsville, Wisc., and Edward Lee Bowling and wife, Brenda of Fayetteville, N.C.; two sisters Jesse House of London and Phyllis Johnson of Annville, Ky.

She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Jamie and wife, Jenny Bowling, Nick and wife, Amy Bowling, Katrina and husband, Aaron Hau, Daniel, Richard, Bradley, Jeffrey and Allison Bowling, Elizabeth Bowling-Diego, and Christopher and Jeremy Lowe; 12 great-grandchildren, Andrew, Sarah, Ben, Faith, Elizabeth, Calvin Bowling, Lydia and Lyla Hau, Alayna Richardson, Elijah and Christian Larocque; plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

The family would also like to recognize and give thanks to her special caregivers, Floyd and Linda Hansel.

Funeral services for Elsie Cornett Bowling was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13 at the chapel of Bowling Funeral Home with Nicholas Bowling officiating.

Burial followed in Cumberland Memorial Gardens, Lily.

Visitation was after 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
