LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
David Jones, 87, Lick Fork Road, London, Ky., formerly of Hardy, Ky., passed away Thursday, March 29, 2012, in the comfort of his home surrounded by loving family members.
He was of the Baptist faith, was a professional horse trainer and judge.
He was the father of Shirley Jones Morgan and husband, Donnie, London, Phylliss Baker, Leon, W.Va., Sharon Hager, Hardy, Ky., and Deborah Davis, Hazard, Ky.; grandfather of, Brian Cole and wife, Laurie, Mt. Vernon, Ky., Darin Cole and friend, Kindra Wilson, London, and Rodney Davis, and fiance, Jimmie Lynn Combs, Hazard; step-grandfather of, Dewayne Morgan; great-grandfather of, Chanler and Trey Cole, and step-grandfather of, Tyla, Presley and Zetta Morgan.
In celebration of Mr. Jones’ life funeral services were held Sunday, April 1 at Weaver Mortuary, 1718 West Third Avenue, Williamson, W.Va.
Burial followed in Waldron Cemetery, Naugatuck, W.Va.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the Laurel River Baptist Association Woman’s Missionary Union, the Gideon International or Hospice of the Bluegrass.
