LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Janet R. Moody, 70, of London, Ky., passed away Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013, at her residence.
She was born on July 20, 1943, in Laurel County, Ky., the daughter of the late Carlo and Martha Anders Johnson.
She was united in marriage to James Garland Moody, who preceded her in death on March 1, 2013.
She is survived by three children, James G. Moody Jr. and Jeffrey Todd Moody and wife, Dianne, all of London, and Tiffany Maxine Houston and husband, Kevin, of East Bernstadt; two sisters, Gerthie Scalf and Geneva Burkhart, both of London; two brothers, James Johnson of London and William Johnson of Paintsville; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild, plus a host of other friends and relatives to mourn her passing.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is also preceded in death by one sister, Bertie Ann Bowling.
She was a retired employee of the London Utility Commission, where she was a Class 4 Water Technician, and a member of Union United Baptist Church.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with Jeff Lewis officiating.
Burial followed in the West London Cemetery.
Visitation was held at Bowling Funeral Home after 6 p.m. Friday.
Pallbearers were Tyler Moody, Rodney Johnson, Braden Houston, Andy Scalf, Lakota Weaver and Scottie Lee Weaver.
