LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. —
Elva Potter McClain, 98, London, Ky., passed away Sunday, May 13, 2012.
Born Oct. 30, 1913 in Clay County, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Jasper and Amelia Neal Potter. She was a retired nurses aide and a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward McClain; and four children, Willa Atchison, Kenneth McClain, Irene Newby and Gloria Wilkins.
Survivors include six children, Celia Thompson and husband, Rick Bowlding, Maryland, Bobby McClain and wife, Bobbye, Ralph McClain and wife, Barbara, Dan McClain and wife, Barbara and Mike McClain and wife, Faye, all of London, and Eddie McClain and wife, Llona, of California; a brother, Gene Potter, Ohio; 29 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren; plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 19 in the chapel of Bowling Funeral Home with Greg Daniels officiating.
Burial will follow in the McKee Cemetery, London.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
